IPSSC Professional Code of Ethics

IPSSC Logo

As a member of the IPSSC, and in recognizing that I am a member of one of the world's oldest, proudest and most elite of professions I will...

  1. Always strive to be a better protective services provider by maintaining and where necessary, increasing my knowledge and skill levels through regular, quality training in all disciplines of the bodyguard profession – as situations change and threats to my charges evolve, so must I adapt.

  2. Always strive to maintain the highest standards of professionalism and integrity knowing that, as a professional protection specialist and member of the IPSSC that I am trusted at the highest levels and that my actions and deeds reflect not only upon myself but also upon my fellow IPSSC associates and others who belong to my profession.

  3. Always remember that I am only as good as my last detail, and that each and every protection detail that I undertake must be performed to the very best of my ability.

  4. Always recognize my strengths and weaknesses - I will always seek to increase upon my strengths and work to eliminate any areas of weakness within my Capabilities.

  5. Always recognize the fact that I am judged by my actions and that what is perceived of me may negatively impact the dignity, livelihood and safety of my client therefore I shall never act inappropriately or unprofessionally during the conduct of my duties.

  6. Never misrepresent myself or lie about my capabilities. If I do not possess a skill then I will work to master it, I will never lie about my capabilities as to do so is unprofessional, unethical and dangerous.
